A Girls Night Out

As the girls from the office went out every Tuesday night, the four of us
decided to go to the local bar/roadhouse for dinner and beverages. We sat in
our usual table and were getting louder and louder as the night progressed. We
noticed we started to clear the room of people who were around us. Shortly, a
group of men took the table beside us. As it turned out, one of the girls from
the office new one of the gentlemen from the table. So, we amalgamated the two
tables together. I, being the quiet introvert didn't add to much conversation
to the table, but merely listened and chuckled and basically stood back and
just viewed. Some of the girls got up to use the facilities and this prompted a
change in seats. Well next to me now was this quiet charming, handsome, sexy
male with blue eyes, greying hair on the temples and I was instantly attracted
to him right away. We chatted and realized we had lots in common, as it turned
out we both got divorces in the year and each had 2 boys and shared other
common interests. By the end of the evening, we had made a date to go out on
Valentines Day which was in a few days. !! That afternoon of the date, a
florist drove up to my door and i was presented with a dozen red long stemmed
roses and a card that said"looking forward to our first date", Wayne I
later received a call from him making sure everything was still an okay for
tonight as one of my kids had been sick earlier and Wayne's voice was so
relaxing and friendly. He punctually drove up in his sports car, a very nice
RX-7 and I thought hmmmm nice car, immaculate and shiny. The evening was to be
a surprise to me as he was making the plans. He walked up to the door in a very
nice suit and entered the foyer shy and yet very friendly toward my toddlers
and the babysitter. He brought two small gifts to which he gave the kids and
they were valentine day chocolate hearts. I was so impressed. As we left the
house, he opened the door to my side of the vehicle and assured I got in okay.
The drive was short and as we drove up to the Restaurant I realized i had never
been to it before. It was called Shakespeare's. It was elegant and decorated
tastefully and eloquently. Our table was in front of the fireplace and over
looked a waterfall if you looked out the window. My eyes were fixed on this new
man in my life forget the waterfall. Dinner was exquisite and the wine was
suburb. He made a toast to our health wealth and happiness. He asked me to
dance to a Bonnie Tyler 's "Turn Around" tune and it was so romantic
and i was afraid of stepping on his toes, He said "You can step on my toes
any day" and then put his cheek to mine. Dessert came and it was chocolate
covered strawberries. We took a stroll along the patio with the waterfall and
white lights and it was so romantic. He put his arm around me as the wind was
chilling. I wasn't cold but I didn't tell him that. We went to Niagara Falls
following that and saw the lights and strolled along the walkway hand in hand.
He then hailed a horse drawn buggy and took a ride and viewed the Fall's as the
horse trotted down the parkway. We ventured into the Casino and played the
slots and he won a jackpot and gave me half of it. I was surprised and said
that I would take him out on the next date, (ulterior motive) and he graciously
accepted. The night ended with a sweet and tender kiss. Neither one of us
wanted the Valentines Day to come to and end nor did it, to this day we are so
very happy, even after all these years.
Broken-down….again

Hi my name is Hamumu27111 Two years ago on Valentines Day my boyfriend came to
pick me up from work. A few days before my car had broken down and he went to
get it fixed for me. (And paid for it) Well he came to pick me up from work
that day and we were driving along down the road and my car broke down AGAIN!!!
Well we were on our way home and I got out of the car and threw my jacket in
the back seat. Then I heard this CRUNCH!! I was like "What was that!"
So I lifted up my jacket and much to my surprise. One dozen pink long stem
roses. I looked at them and looked at him and asked "Who are those
for???" That was the first time I'd EVER gotten roses. He just smiled and
looked at me. "You"
Are you my husband?

This is about me and my most and only memory of Valentines Day, 21 November
1996 I met a man and he told me I was lovely and he would like to get to know
me so we did and on 15 September we got married. He is not the romantic type of
man so I learned to accept him for what he is. Now and again I got a bunch of
flowers and he tells me he loves me but we do love each other and we do get on
well. Valentines Day has never really been something for my husband to make an
issue of so it always came and went with the odd bunch of flowers. February
14th 2007 I got up in the morning and I thought oh no here we go again another
valentines which will go by but he know he loves me. 5pm my hubby comes home
from work and he says "have you got a really sexy dress up stairs in your
wardrobe"? I said "yes why do you want to know that"? He said
"well darling I would love you to put it on and accompany me tonight"
well was I shocked and I thought oh my god what has he got planned? He would
not tell me nothing just that I had to be ready. I was so worried what has he
got planned. 8pm that evening and here I go I was dolled up and ready to go and
i had never felt so nervous in my life. 8:30pm we arrived at a lovely
restaurant where he told me we were going to have a romantic three course meal
and he was going to show me how much he loves me and give me the time of my
life (oh my god he really does love me). The table was decorated with balloons
saying "I love you my valentine" I cried I was so shocked and happy. He
ordered a bottle of wine and the meal was so lovely. We had heart shaped plates
and the pudding was ice cream with a heart shaped pastry. I thought we were
having a meal and we were going home but oh no the night did not stop there our
meal was finished and there was a live band on. I had never felt so loved in my
life this was a surprise and I loved it (this man really does love me and I
love him so, so much). We sat there arm in arm listening to the live band and
he whispered lovely things in my ear all night and told he loved me and wanted
to do this to show me how much he really loved me. The band was now over and I
told him how proud I was to be with him and he said "good as I have not
finished yet and the night is golden". He took me for a walk along the
river hand in hand the man I married and the man I thought would never do this
for me. This is a man who had never done this before and who didn't have a
romantic bone in his body (oh my god where has my husband gone?) he has been
taken away by aliens ha-ha. He took me home hand in hand and the house was
decorated in hearts and a picture of us on our wedding day. He took my hand and
said darling lets go upstairs and I walked into our bedroom and all I saw were
candles and red rose petals all over the bed I was so loved and I didn't
realise how much. This is my story of how I realised I had my man and he was
all I wanted. what does it matter if he only does it once in a blue moon as
that night he made up for all the years he never took me out so I had 10
valentines night all in one. Now I know how much he loves me and wants to be
with me and that what Valentines Day is all about and it was the best and only
valentines I can ever remember.

I meet my love of my life a week before Valentines Day 2003 we meet on a train
we got talking all week leading to Valentines Day. On Valentines Day Andy was
on the train again and surprise me with a rose and some chocolates. By chance i
think it was Andy asked me what I was doing for Valentines day I said nothing
he said yes you are your coming out with me. I agreed and he said he would pick
me up at 8pm so I gave him my address. I then asked what we would be doing and
he said leave it up to me to just dress nicely so I said alright. It was about
7.55pm and I was getting really nervous. At 8pm my door bell rang I went to the
door to my amazement there was a man standing there in a tux and it wasn't
Andy. The man said your car awaits you madam. I didn't no what to do. So I went
outside to get in the car and there was Andy standing with a dozen long stemmed
roses. We got in the car and Andy opened a bottle of champagne I asked where we
were going and he said I'm not going to spoil the surprise. We went and had
dinner at an exclusive restaurant and the meal was wonderful Andy was great and
the night was fantastic. After dinner Andy and I walked along the foreshore and
were talking when Andy said you no how you haven't seen your family in a long
time, I said yes he said well guess what we are flying to Sydney in 2hours I
said no way he said it was all arranged. What a wonderful Valentines Day A year
later on Valentines Day we got married 2004 and to our surprise our first born
was born 14 Feb. 2005. We Now have a wonderful family together Andy Kylie the
Triplets (7 weeks old) and me. I would not change a thing Andy is a real
romantic and believes a woman should be pampered at least once a week he buys
me a present or some sort and everyday we tell each other how much we love one
and other. Happy Valentines Day to Every One

Valentine's Day....and another shift at the military hospital. A soldier called
Richard was admitted, injured by a landmine which had killed two of his
friends. Doctors were unsure if he'd ever walk again. Over the months I cared
for him, I felt myself falling for him, though I was unsure if he felt the same
way. He had frequent mood swings and hated being confined to a wheelchair. I
became ill, and was off work for weeks. On returning, Richard had been
transferred to a hospital nearer his home. I was devastated; he'd left no
contact details for me. Over the months, I thought about him often, I went on a
couple of dates, but my heart wasn't really in it. Exactly one year later, on
Valentine's Day, there was a knock on my door. And there stood Richard, with
the biggest bouquet of roses I'd ever seen. He could walk! I burst into tears
and threw myself into his arms. He'd told me that he'd fallen for me, but
needed to know if he'd ever walk again. We married one year later, yes you've
guessed....on Valentine's Day!

I've been married to my husband Darren, for almost 5 years now, though we've
been together 11 years, since I was 17!
He's quite romantic, and over the years we have had some great Valentine's
moments... the best being a holiday to Canada to see Niagara Falls and Toronto.
We had a helicopter flight over the falls and stayed in a fantastic hotel - It
truly was a holiday of a lifetime, and the most romantic valentine's gift I
could have ever imagined!

My Husband and I have been together for 8 years now. We have 3 kids and a year
and a half ago we moved to Ireland from NZ, as my husbands job has bought us
here for a few years. We are all born in NZ, howeever both our parents are of
full Samoan Descent. So we are what you call, New Zealand - Samoans as we are
proud to be from both. So we are now in Ireland, with absolutely no family or
close friends here, although we have met several nice people, we do not know
anyone well enough to babysit our kids at any stage, so last year I cooked all
day long on valentines and then my husband and I celebrated our first
Valentines with all 3 of our kids dressed in red, me and my daughters all wore
red, my husband and my son, wore red ties. I set our dinning table with 5
candles and all the lights out, it wasn't our usual valentines dinner, but it
was wonderful to celebrate with our children. My son, had 2 white roses for my
daughters and my husband a beautiful red rose for myself!!

Just a quick story that happened to me....I worked for a company in the UK in
1991 and was engaged to be married. I met a girl at the same company who became
my best friend. She was also engaged to be married. I spent a lot of time with
her and her fiancé and became very close to them, but felt a special bond with
her fiancé. He felt the same and we spoke about it often, believing that we
were in love, but agreed to keep our distance as circumstances were not right
due to our impending weddings. We each married our partners, and moved on with
our lives.
Christmas 2003, following my divorce, I decided to log onto Friends Reunited,
to wish a Merry Christmas to some old work colleagues. I came across the name
of my friend's fiancé, and read that he had moved away when they married. I
sent him and his wife an e-mail, wishing them all the best for the New Year.
Christmas came and went, with no response, until January... I received a reply
stating he had moved back to the area following his divorce. We met a few days
later, and it was love at first sight all over again, 13 years later!! On
Valentines Day that year, we found we were expecting our first child!
Four years later, we are just as in love, with a fabulous son and playing on
Partybingo!!! Life finds a way of bringing people together, no matter how much
time goes by!

We always go to Lusty Beg Island in county Fermanagh - our getaway from the
kids on special weekends, especially Valentines.
Arriving on Friday, we settled into our room, headed to the bar for a few
drinks, meal and to listen to the music. Barney played at the weekends. He had
his guitar, great voice and a good variety of songs.
On the way back, hubby slipped down some steps hurting his ankle. The next
morning, it was badly swollen so went to the ER. Eight hours later, his foot in
plaster and dosed with painkillers, we headed back
He was zonked and I didn't fancy going to eat a Valentines meal on my own
surrounded by couples wondering why.
Little did I know!
Around 7.30pm there was a knock at the door - in came the restaurant staff with
tables, chairs and the entire meal planned for that evening… and behind them
came Barney with his guitar to serenade us while we ate.
It had all been planned when I was in the shower.
Hubby managed the starter before he had to lie down, so I shared my Valentines
dinner with another man who sang to me between courses and took me out to dance
the night away…….all with the permission of my husband!!!!!!

I think my favourite moments valentines day was one year ago. My girl friend
mother was upset with me in that period and she did not want to be with her
daughter. On 15 February I said to my girlfriend lets run away to mountain
(approx. 150km away) and in that night we go there and we stay alone like 2
lovers, and we stay there two days and all was wonderful. We forget about
parents and friends, we were just us and that was all that mattered. And then I
feel that I am a important person for her and she is a important person for me,
and I feel important because she give up his parents for me.
HAPPY VALENTINES!!!
